A Red Truck with a Green Tree

Sunday, December 6, 2015

For some reason the color red immediately brings Christmas to mind.  Add red to any scene, and the scene becomes Christmas.  Make that a red truck, and the Christmas factor soars.  If the red truck has a green tree in its bed, Christmas shouts from the rooftops of the mind, "Merry Christmas!"

Add the scent of rosemary to chase away any thoughts other than Christmas.

Add a few dents here and there to the truck, and Christmas in Texas comes to my mind.  Trucks for working ranches, farms, and construction sites are the reasons for trucks in Texas.  Not city-slicker trucks with chrome bumpers parked in front of a luxury hotel in New York.

Red trucks with 200,000 miles on their odometers travel two-lane backroads hauling needed supplies. Jolting along over potholes, gravel, and mud, the ride is not easy on the passengers, the cargo, or the truck.

Yepper, an old dented red truck hauling green rosemary trees in its bed says, "Christmas in Texas."

More Christmas in Texas is coming your way all week, Dec. 7 - 11, 2015.
