June - The Blue Hour

l'heure bleue en juin
the blue hour in June

Because of its beauty that makes time stop for an instant, the expression l'heure bleue has come to describe a variety of special times and events, not just a description of a special blue glow at dusk. Each month in 2016, I am sharing a collage of blue images that create a little l'heure bleue for me.

Summer arrived bright and early on June 20 this year bringing the usual high temperatures under scorching sun rays.  While blue and white botanical dishes are beautiful year round, they are even more beautiful in summer with a refreshing, cooling color palette that reminds one of

S E A and S K Y.

Blue and white dishes bring flashes of summer days spent on sparkling white sandy beaches with white-capped blue waves rolling ashore under blue and white striped awnings snapping in a breeze.

Blue and white dishes with botanical patterns always make me stop to admire them.
Time slows, and for a brief moment, time is suspended as I am lost in their beauty.

What brings a l'heure bleue moment for you in June?

I love blue and white. So gorgeous. Victoria Magazine usually featured blue and white in the June issue. It was always a favorite of mine. Gorgeous.

Oh, for me? The sky. The lakes. The aqua elements I add to my home. The blue delphiniums in gardens around me. But blue is in my mind all the time. France. It's skies as well as the trim on cottages in Provence. OH DEAR, blue is the color of LIFE!

What lovely bleu's and blanc...
Blue is always a natural colour to enhance a home with, always safe when designing around natural earth elements, the deep waters, the blue of sky. These elements are so beautifully incorporated in your home. Judith, I am most certain your French holiday trip to France with your sister late summer will inspire great finds in blues from some of the best brocante's.

Thank you dear for this beautiful share, as I see some of these blue settings in the mix of my rose paintings with touches of French Bleu.
Thank you for your visit and your beautiful words.
Cannot wait to visit your French holiday postings from France.
